How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. In a group, share ideas, jobs and decisions.
  2. Listen when others talk, and be kind and polite.
  3. A perspective is someone’s way of seeing things. Others may see it differently, and that’s okay.

Example: Your group disagrees about a poster idea. What should you do first? Every person’s ideas matter. Listening helps you understand their perspective. Answer: listen to everyone’s ideas

Gradelings describes a child's practice on this unit as Beginning, Approaching, Meeting or Exceeding (Four practice steps). That reflects practice, not a report-card mark: the teacher decides the mark.
