How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practise.

  1. Flat shapes have sides and corners.
  2. Solid shapes can roll, stack or slide.
  3. A sphere rolls every way, like a ball.

Example: Which solid shape rolls every way, like a ball? A cube has flat sides, so it slides. Only a sphere rolls every way. Answer: A sphere
