How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practise.

  1. Use facts you know to find the ones you don't.
  2. Split a number into easy parts.
  3. Division is the opposite of multiplication.

Example: 7 × 8 = ? 5 × 8 = 40. 2 × 8 = 16. 40 + 16 = 56. Answer: 56
