How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. mis/mit means send, bene means good, man means hand.
  2. vac means empty, scrib/script means write, jur/jus means law.
  3. Find the root, then use the rest of the word and the sentence.

Example: The root vac means “empty.” What does “vacant” mean? Find the root: vac. Vacant has the same meaning as the root. Answer: empty
