How we explain it
Children can open this short lesson before they practice.
- After World War I the Ottoman lands were divided; the Sykes-Picot Agreement split them between Britain and France.
- The Great Depression began with the 1929 crash and spread worldwide.
- Dictators rose: Stalin forced collectivization; fascism glorified nation, leader and military (Mussolini invaded Ethiopia in 1935); Hitler took power in 1933.
Example: In what year did Adolf Hitler become chancellor of Germany? It was during the Great Depression. The year was 1933. Answer: 1933
