Talk & Listen

Sentences, questions and taking turns

What your child practices

Chat about the day, ask your child to answer in a whole sentence, and let them ask you questions. Poems and rhymes are great practice too.

How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. A sentence tells a whole idea, like “The dog runs fast.”
  2. A question asks something. It ends with a question mark.
  3. To talk in class, raise your hand and wait your turn.

Example: Which one is a question? “Can I play?” or “I can play.” A question asks something. It ends with a question mark. Answer: Can I play?
