What your child practices

How we explain it
Children can open this short lesson before they practice.
- Add ’s to show who owns something: the dog’s bone.
- Question words ask for different things: who (a person), when (a time), where (a place), which (a choice), whose (an owner).
- Prepositions show where: under, on, beside. An interjection shows feeling: Oops! Wow!
Example: Which word completes the question? “___ is your birthday?” “In May.” The answer, May, is a time. The question word for a time is when. Answer: When
