Sharing, turns and caring for places

What your child practices

Sharing, taking turns, listening, including others, and showing respect for people, belongings and the places we share.

Alaska content standards learning standard: SS.1.2.7.1; SS.1.4.7.1 · equality and fairness, and comparing different points of view

How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. Sharing means letting others use something too.
  2. Include everyone. Ask a new friend to teach you a word.
  3. Respect places: pick up litter, be gentle with plants.

Example: Everyone in class helps tidy up. What is this called? Everyone works together. Working together is cooperating. Answer: cooperating
