Big & Rational Numbers
Writing big numbers with powers of ten, perfect squares and square roots, comparing positive and negative fractions and decimals, simplifying fractions and rounding.

Unit 2
Factors & Exponents
Finding the greatest common factor and lowest common multiple, and writing and evaluating repeated multiplication with exponents.

Unit 3
Add & Subtract Integers
Adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers with number lines, temperatures and elevations, including the idea that subtracting a number is the same as adding its opposite.

Decimal Operations
All four operations with decimals, estimating to check answers, ordering decimals, and money problems such as unit prices.

Fractions
Adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators, and multiplying and dividing a fraction by a fraction.

Linear Relations
Finding the rule behind growing patterns, writing expressions like 3n + 2, and connecting tables, graphs and real situations such as rental costs.

Unit 9
Algebra Moves
Combining like terms, evaluating expressions with decimals, solving two-step equations, and finding and graphing solutions to inequalities.

Two-Step Equations
Solving equations like 3x + 5 = 26 by undoing each step on both sides, writing equations from word problems and checking solutions.

Data & Percentages
Using percents to compare groups, turning circle-graph angles into percents, and seeing how adding or removing a value changes the mean and median.

Circle Graphs

Using radius, diameter and π (about 3.14) to find the distance around a circle and the area inside it, including real objects like wheels and pizzas.

Counting faces, edges and vertices, classifying solids, planes of symmetry, enlarging and shrinking shapes by a scale factor, and scale drawings.
