How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. Culture is a group’s way of life: food, music, dance, beliefs and celebrations.
  2. Every culture has food, shelter, clothing and language.
  3. Communities have many celebrations, like Juneteenth, Diwali or Lunar New Year.

Example: Is a family’s special holiday dance part of their culture? Culture includes music and dance. A dance a family shares is part of its way of life. Answer: yes
