Sorting Polygons

Triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons and octagons, regular and irregular.

What your child practices

Practices naming polygons by their number of sides and sorting them as regular (all sides and angles equal) or irregular.

New York State Learning Standards learning standard: NY-3.G.1 · naming and sorting polygons by their number of sides and vertices

How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. A polygon is a closed shape with straight sides.
