How we explain it

Children can open this short lesson before they practice.

  1. A 3-digit number has hundreds, tens and ones.
  2. Count by 10s or 100s to move up quickly.
  3. Compare hundreds first, then tens, then ones.

Example: Count by 10s: 140, 150, 160, 170, ? Each step adds 10. 170 + 10 = 180. Answer: 180
